RAISING THE FLAG COMPETITION
In an effort to teach the importance of patriotism and support our troops at the same time, Military Missions Inc launched the RAISING THE FLAG competition last fall. School winners were honored as a flag was flown by the Kentucky National Guard Agribusiness Development Team currently stationed at Bagram. SSG Corson, who flew the flags in Bagram, was also able to join Military Missions and present the flags to the school winners while home on leave. Students were able to join SSG Corson in raising the flag on their own school flag pole.
Teach the importance and symbolism of the American flag as well as the importance of the role played by those who stand in the gap to protect our freedoms here in the United States of America. Join Military Missions Inc in our next RAISING THE FLAG competition. This competition takes place in the fall semester and the spring semester of each calendar year.
Students from participating schools bring in donations for care packages being sent to deployed troops. Participants with the highest count of donated items win the competition.
