As we begin 2008, we would like to find out what will best meet the needs of our current participants, as well as those that will join us throughout the year. Working around everyone’s busy schedules is difficult and we want to try to accommodate as many of you as possible with our events. There is a fine line between meeting too often for those that are busy, and not meeting often enough for those that like the weekly fellowship. We would also like to find out what areas of service may be needed for our local military families. Finally, we would like to see what you may have in the way of suggestions and ideas for 2008. As we begin to define our ministry, we would like to find out what others are looking for in the areas of support and service.
Knowing that everyone dislikes surveys, we will apologize right from the beginning for asking you to fill this out. We gratefully appreciate your feedback and your help with this little project. We hope that this information will help us to plan a year that will be full of support, encouragement, fellowship, and fun for all those participating. We also hope that we will be able to share the love of Christ with military and their family members.

SECTION III: MONTHLY SOCIAL EVENTS
We are interested in planning something each month that would be different from our weekly Monday Night Fellowships. Ideas include dinner (restaurant, progressive, cookout, etc.), movie and popcorn night, scrapbook night (make them or just share them), photo night (bring in those photos of your hero and show them off!) bowling, family night, etc. We will change the theme of our social each month and try to do a variety of activities to get to know each other better.

In order to send cards and letters on a more frequent basis, we would like to suggest having individuals “adopt” one or more soldiers on our list of deployed military. Adoption would probably mean a commitment to pray for a soldier daily and send a quick note, postcard, email, or letter at least twice a month.

SECTION VII: NON-PROFIT STATUS
We should be granted non-profit (501c3) status in the upcoming months. Do you have any suggestions for obtaining donations or fundraising? While we don’t want fundraising to be our main focus, donations keep the ministry going. We would like to figure out ways to fund our support for the military community that wouldn’t require us to sell candy bars and raffle tickets. We are hopeful that will be gain donations as people hear of our ministry. Ideas on how to get this idea across to potential donors would be appreciated. Please share your suggestions and/or feedback on this concept.
