It’s time to start planning our float for the Lexington’s July 4th Parade. We are looking for individuals with creative ideas, helping hands, and a willingness to help us with our float entry. The parade offers us an excellent opportunity to honor our military and get the word out about our organization. If you have never participated in this parade, you don’t want to miss this opportunity. Not only is it a lot of fun to work on the float and make new friends, but the experience of riding in the parade and honoring our military is indescribable.
We need planners at our initial meeting on Thursday, May 7. We will also need people willing to volunteer to work on the float in the weeks prior to the parade. Finally, we will need people to participate on the day of the parade with our float and with our information booth.

ICHTHUS FESTIVAL EXHIBITOR BOOTH
DATES: Wednesday, June 10 - Saturday, June 13, 2009
LOCATION: Wilmore, Kentucky
Military Missions, Inc. will be hosting an exhibition table at the upcoming Ichthus Festival. We will be distributing information about Military Missions and will be asking festival attendees to write cards to our deployed troops. We have been told that there is the potential for up to 15,000 to pass by our exhibition table during the festival. Imagine how awesome it will be to get the word out about our ministry to so many people from all over the country!
We need volunteers to help us set up the booth in the evening hours of Wednesday, June 10. Times are not yet determined, but will be posted soon. We also need volunteers to help us work the booth all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (June 11-13). Volunteers will be expected to help for 1/2 day or full day shifts. (Don't worry, we will give you a break now and then.) With the crowds and the expense to get into the festival, we must have volunteers that can work long shifts because we have to purchase tickets for our workers. We will also need you to seriously consider your commitment. Please check your calendar and let us know asap if you can volunteer for this event. Don't commit to this event unless you are certain you can attend.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Beth at [email protected] or 859-509-4827.
KGMR ARTILLERY POKER RUN
Riding Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
SATURDAY, JUNE 20
This event will benefit our deployed soldiers as well as their families here at home struggling with financial needs. While deployed, or when transitioning back into the community, there are difficulties that often arise that cause our soldiers to get behind with their financial responsibilities. Medical conditions, job layoffs, car repairs, appliance repairs and other unexpected expenses often set our military families back. Most of them take a large cut in salary when they put on their boots and deploy on our behalf. To find out more information about the event click here.
